About Us

協会について

Kitaibaraki International Communications Society (KICS) started on March 20, 1994 with the purpose of "Promoting various exchanges between citizens and other countries, contributing to international goodwill and cultural improvement of citizens, and creating an international cultural city that can contribute to world peace", with the support of Kitaibaraki city.

In September 2014, we celebrated the new milestone of the 20th anniversary of our founding, and carried out a commemorative project together with the international friendship city, Wairoa, New Zealand, Kitaibaraki City, and members of the association, and started for the next 20 years.  In order to foster an international sense of citizens and enhance mutual understanding internationally, we will carry out various support projects in collaboration with Kitaibaraki City, and will play a major role in the internationalization of the city and international goodwill.
Regarding activities, we have five specialized committees, such as homestay, overseas dispatch(KYAP), network, global understanding, and WAIPRO, centered on the board of directors, secretariat, and business committee, and KICS members volunteer for planning and management.  We have concluded an international friendship city with Wairoa district, New Zealand, and are actively engaged in a wide range of activities, such as global understanding activities of citizens with an eye on internationalization (JICA / neighbor university student homestay), and KICS original program aiming to expand the perspective of young people overseas (Kitaibaraki Youth Ambassador Program-KYAP).
165 members, 14 group registrations (as of June 2021, General meeting)
