JICA Trainee Homestay Program

Linah from Kenya visited Kitaibaraki City. Surprised and impressed by the first experience of Japanese home !!

Due to JICA's circumstances, the number of participants suddenly became one, and the host family who was looking forward to accepting them was very disappointed. There are 10 participants every year, and in line with the annual citizen summer festival, we had you participate in a traditional Japanese event held in Kitaibaraki City through a homestay, but this year, only one trainee participated. However, due to the hospitality of the Kobayashi family, the trainee, Linah enjoyed her first homestay, visiting the scenic sites of Kitaibaraki and experiencing the festival.

This time, Linah is scheduled to train in Japan for about three years, and she has vowed to return home with KICS members and host families who want to experience the culture related to the four seasons of Japan and definitely want to visit Kitaibaraki City again.

This is the 10th time, and we were able to deepen our international understanding by communicating with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and the citizens of Kitaibaraki. We would like to continue to promote it as part of the international understanding activities for the citizens of Kitaibaraki.
