Waipro-9 Kitaibaraki City Visit Record

A total of 22 NZ / Wairoa students, teachers and the general public visited Kitaibaraki for 12 days from September 22, 2018 to 10.2. Blessed with the weather, with the cooperation of 18 host families, they enjoyed Autumn Kitaibaraki and returned to Wairoa energetically. This time, there were 5 student boys, which was less than usual, but the usual Haka performance was more powerful and soulful expression than ever before, and we felt that it was the most wonderful performance we have ever seen. In addition, all the students are shy peculiar to NZ, but as the days went by, their smiles increased, and they laughed and shouted, "I don't want to go back home yet" and "I want to stay here one more week."

This time as well, they experienced a lot of Japan such as visit elementary and junior high school (school lunch, caligraphy experience, etc.) and high school (play rugby, etc.) , mayor courtesy visit, embarkation experience, temple visit, rice harvesting, tea ceremony, ceramics, etc.

Next year will be the 19th opportunity for students and citizens of Kitaibaraki City to visit Wairoa City. We look forward to your participation.
